EZ Japanese started its business in 2010. The founder of EZ Japanese, Kiyomi Calwell is a bilingual primary school teacher, who trained and qualified in Australia. She became an Australian Citizen in 2009 resulting in the cancellation of Japanese Citizenship because Japanese government does not allow Dual Citizenship. Kiyomi’s love of Australia started when she found out that her grandfather’s butcher imported her favourite meat, lamb, from Australia. Kiyomi says, “I was born in the wrong country. I’m more comfortable in Australia, but I still love Japanese culture. I hope many people will learn Japanese to experience a different culture because when you have multiple perspectives, you could come up with a different approach to a problem.” Through the Tyke-Oh Japanese Drumming Program Kiyomi witnessed that children developed respect for themselves and other people. Also, they took care of their instruments, realising that they cannot perform without these unique instruments and their team members to play with. EZ Japanese provides customised support for customers’ needs in learning and teaching Japanese. We also support travel, events, community, and business needs. We provide a variety of services and resources for schools, community events, cultural events, businesses and individuals.
